The Royal Academy of Dance offers a number of full-time and part-time programs by a combination of modes including distance learning as well as study at the RAD headquarters in London.

In the United States, the Royal Academy of Dance provides the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, which is delivered primarily by distance learning. It is designed to meet the needs of those who wish to become Registered Teachers of the Royal Academy of Dance.

The program is completed in 6 modules which include the RAD Syllabus Part 1 and 2, The Healthy Dancer, Planning for Effective Teaching, Practical Teaching, and The Freelance Dance Teacher. These modules are taken through part-time study over two years. Students are required to attend a one week intensive study period in each year.

Successful students will be awarded the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and will be eligible for Registered Teaching status which grants permission to enter candidates for examinations.
